Role of Board Members

The Board consists of representatives from every racing pigeon federation or association within Victoria and includes a Board President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.
The Charter of the Victorian Racing Pigeon Board Inc. is to promote and uphold 7 basic principles as outlined below:

●To represent the interests of State Associations and Federations within Victoria, particularly with reference to, and liaison with both Local Government and the Victorian State Government.
●To promote the modern-day Sport of Racing Pigeons in Victoria.
●To promote as paramount the health and welfare of Victorian Pigeons.
●To respectfully commemorate the history of Homing Pigeons in Australia, and services to the defence of our Country.
●To collaboratively facilitate and convene events deemed beneficial to the Sport of Racing Pigeons.
●To raise the funds necessary to pursue the above in such a manner as deemed necessary by the Board.

Board members meet as necessary to discuss issues that may arise from the various Federations and/or Regional areas to gain both clarification and direction on issues that may need the Board’s attention in regards to those principles outlined above.
Board members are nominated by their respective Federations and/or Clubs and when vacancies do arise the Board welcomes interested fanciers to fill vacant positions.
The position is an interesting one, and one that allows fanciers to play an active part in the future of the sport.
